Athena featured in new ‘Save the Children’ advert

December 13, 2012

Dear Friends,

I have such exciting news to share. Save The Children have asked me to be the voice of their new UK TV ad campaign and to sing my own version of Silent Night. It has been such a joy and honour. The ad is airing in the UK today Dec 10th – watch out for it. You can also catch it here on YouTube.

I also filmed some of the recording on my iPhone to share a bit of the process with you, hope you enjoy!

The full track will hopefully be available soon to buy on a special compilation CD for Save The Children, so I will update you on that very soon!

Songwriting and films

A lot has happened since the last time I wrote. Those of you following me on Facebook and Twitter have probably picked up on some of it.

I have been in creative mode, writing songs and poetry in Greek and English. In September I was invited on a songwriting circle retreat with Chris Difford, and co-wrote with Boo Hewerdine and Katherine Williams – both of whom I really love as artists, an honour and so much fun.

I have also been busy getting a few of my songs in US TV and films which has been really exciting. More on all this very soon.

Finding England feat on Visit England campaign – London Olympics

For those of you who weren’t in the UK or may have missed it, ‘Finding England’ from Peeling Apples featured on the Visit England campaign for the London Olympics this summer!

Artist Online Music Store

I now also have an online store, old and new CDs and special edition prints, all of which you can get signed. If there’s anything else you would like to see at the store, please let us know! Your feedback is important.

Have a lovely holiday if we don’t speak before. For those of you on Facebook and Twitter, see you there!

I’d like to leave you with Orhan Pamuk’s beautiful words:
Love is the ability to make the invisible visible and the desire to always feel the invisible in one’s midst.
